Project: Research and development of UAV aided mobile positioning algorithm
As well known, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication is a new scenario in modern mobile communication systems. Positioning of mobile stations can be aided by UAVs. New positioning algorithms should be developed to guarantee good performance of mobile positioning, for example, 3D positioning algorithms based on TOA (time of arrival), TDOA (time difference of arrival), and AOA (angel of arrival).
In this project, the student will be required to develop, simulate, and analyze an UAV aided positioning algorithm.
Prerequisites to the students are as follows.
(1) Good understanding of mobile communication theories.
(2) Good ability on programing with Matlab.
(3) Interests in mobile positioning.
In this project, the student will be required to complete following tasks.
(1) Survey published articles on concerned topic.
(2) Develop an UAV aided mobile positioning algorithm.
(3) Simulate the presented algorithm.
(4) Analyze the performance of the presented algorithm based on the simulated results.
The outcomes of this project should be
(1) An UAV aided positioning algorithm.
(2) A simulation platform.
(3) Simulation results and analyses.
