Abstract
The conversion of sulfur dioxide is a key step in the process of producing sulfuric acid. Based on the reaction kinetics equation of sulfur dioxide into sulphur trioxide as the foundation, combined with the fixed bed reactor model, the difference equation and differential equation can be converted to use Excel processing functions of nonlinear equation, calculate the height of the reactor, we can find that the reactor height and the conversion relationship: with a reactor conversion rate increased from 0 to 81%, a reactor height by the need to 3.675 m, 2 reactor conversion rate increased from 81% to 99%, while the second section of the reactor conversion only increased by 11%, but the reactor height is 10.128 m. This design is given priority to with height calculation fixed bed reactor, and design the volume of a fixed bed reactor, so the heat exchange between parameters such as area, pressure drop, mapped the reactor equipment.
